| As I gained
experience and confidence with styling I began art directing my own
promotional materials, promotional materials for some of my colleagues
and for assignment. Photo art direction seems like the natural
progression for me as I continue with it more and more, having
ever-increasing opportunities to collaborate with clients directly on
their creative needs.
During all of this I became a self-taught pastry chef,
taught a class on foodstyling at the Restaurant School in Philadelphia
and presented a demonstration at Food On Film '03 on Beverages and
Special Effects.
".......Working with
Katrina is always a pleasure. She is not only very competent in food
and prop styling but she always handles her work with professional
pride, honesty, and a strong sense of integrity tempered with an
excellent sense of humor." -
Gwendolyn Goguelet, Marketing Manager, High Liner Foods, USA.
"Katrina is one of my 'A'
choices. If the job requires ideas and visions about food, flowers or
room environments, having Kat on the project always means we'll have
more ideas and solutions than we can use.
If the job is tough, long
or complex I work her into the budget. We've done projects together
that dragged on for a month and she brought her energy and appetite for
the work in with her everyday. If you give me my choice, I'll choose
Katrina." - Mark Rockwood, Photographer
